Jonathan Collins & Co
Our approach
JCCO provides sophisticated and flexible legal services when and where you need them. We pride ourselves on focussing on our clients business and not our own.
Our business is understanding your business.
We can provide services remotely from home, at your offices, or from Central London.
We are lean and maintain minimal overheads, which enables us to deliver to you efficient, timely and cost-effective legal solutions.
JCCO's preferred approach is to provide you with outsourced in-house counsel on a part time or flexi-basis to suit your business needs.
Engagements typically range from 2 days a month to 2 or 3 days every week.
We are sometimes asked to work full time for a short, fixed term. This suits one-off transactions, such as business or company acquisition, disposal or a specific corporate project.
We are equally comfortable providing our advice and services on a transaction, matter or document basis in the manner of a traditional law firm, charging fixed fees or hourly rates.

Our services
Outsourced in-house counsel
Does your business require access to regular corporate legal support on a part time basis? Jonathan Collins can act as your in-house legal counsel, general counsel, chief legal officer - you can decide on the title and the manner in which you would like him to interface with and support your team. This can be using your email system, as part of the management team or on a partly integrated or purely remote basis.
M&A
Buying or selling companies or businesses takes time, attention to detail and experience. Whether you are a buyer or seller, we can help you manage the due diligence, the dual negotiation and the transaction process. We advise on domestic UK as well as international or cross border acquisitions, strategic alliances, JVs and investments. We also advise businesses wishing to rebalance their portfolio or risk exposure through corporate reorganisation or disposals of non-core assets.
Corporate & commercial
Risk management
Wealth management
We deal with the full range of corporate and commercial agreements faced by your business operations on a day to day basis: these include, key supplier or client contracts, NDAs, project partnerships, distribution agreements, agency deals, introducer and intermediary commission arrangements, IP licensing and supply and service contracts.
We provide strategic legal advice and help you to navigate anticipated or threatened litigation.
We assist directors, shareholders and investors on shareholder agreements and investment structures.
In an increasingly complex legal and regulatory environment, we help you to negotiate delicate legal compliance and corporate governance matters.
Well managed businesses manage risk effectively.
Effective risk management requires a methodical approach to understanding and analysing the key risks to your business. The COVID-19 Pandemic
has separated the professionals from the amateurs in this regard.
The events of 2020 have revealed the importance of:
-
Identifying the probability and likely impact of specific risks to your business model
-
Having simple, easy to implement business contingency plans (BCPs) in place
JCCO can:
-
Help you to put in place a more formal risk management structure within your business
-
Help you to identify and cover off the key risks to your business
-
Review key insurance policies and other risk mitigation, business operations procedures and backup plans.
This can all be done in an efficient, focussed and succinct manner.
Jonathan Collins has served on numerous Risk Management and Compliance Committees and is available to provide you with an independent perspective to overseeing your risks (2nd Line of Defence). This can be in the capacity of Chairman, ordinary member or observer on your Risk Committee.
We advise a select group of high net worth clients on their estate and succession planning and asset protection measures - and help you craft your will, letter of wishes, trusts or insurance wrappers.
Typically, this tends to involve more than one legal jurisdiction and will require specialist tax input.
